McDonald's Will Sell This Popular Treat for the First Time History .

McDonald's has iconic desserts. From the McFlurry and Apple Pie to the Pull-Apart Donut and Cheese Danish, the chain never stops innovating to satisfy America's sweet tooth.

McDonald's new partnership with an iconic donut brand is notable because McDonald's rarely sells other brands' products.

Select McDonald's locations will sell fresh Krispy Kreme donuts. The limited-time offering will assess the partnership's impact on the chain's operations. Nine Kentucky and Indiana locations will sell donuts on October 26:

Krispy Kreme's classic glazed donut, chocolate iced with sprinkles, and raspberry-filled donut will be available. All day, they'll be sold individually or in six-packs. They won't be delivered.

Krispy Kreme's "hub and spoke" distribution model allows it to deliver fresh donuts to McDonald's daily. Last year, the donut chain implemented this new strategy to improve product quality and freshness across all locations.

Despite Krispy Kreme's breakfast competition, McDonald's may be doing this to boost customer traffic amid inflation.

After the pandemic, the chain's check averages have dropped, but the cheap donuts could boost order add-ons and check averages.
